Takagi’s designs are timeless masterpieces, showing the flowers in their essence and stripped of all frills.
In addition to her studies at the Jane Packer Flower School and the Hana-ami Gestaltungsschule in Tokyo, Takagi continued her education at various international seminars, including with German master Gregor Lersch. Meanwhile, Yuko successfully runs her own school for floral design and travels the world as a demonstrator. International recognition came in the form of a number of prestigious prizes; for example, Takagi deservedly won the ‘Golden Leaf’ in Stichting Kunstboeks International Floral Art 2006/2007. In this special monograph, this standard-bearer of Japanese aesthetics bundles a number of her works for the first time.
